The Edwards RECOIL REDUCER® design is based on a piston, suspended between 2 springs of unequal ratio, being placed in motion by the reward movement of recoil. The recoil compresses the piston against the strong spring which, in turn, forces it against the weaker spring. This action happens numerous times every time you fire a shot, thereby reducing the felt recoil.

Edwards offers four different types of recoil reduction devices, a combination that can be uniquely matched to satisfy your recoil reduction needs in any rifle or shotgun. But not just for shotguns, our recoil reducers are routinely installed in rifles up to .460 Lott and many of our units have been used by hunters seeking dangerous game.

One installation adds a net increase of 6 oz. and two adds about 11 oz. Edwards RECOIL REDUCER® is a metal cylinder less than one inch in diameter and either 3, 3 1/2 or 4 inches in length. It's what's inside that counts: a piston held between 2 compressed springs of different ratios. The Edwards RECOIL REDUCER® is installed in the shotgun or rifle stock and many top shooters use a double installation (two reducers in the stock).

Non-adjustable Recoil Reducer

• Standard model

• To be used as stand alone model or can be installed in concert with Adjustable unit to further reduce recoil.
• The unit’s 7/8” diameter is ideal for installation in the drawbolt hole of most popular shotguns.

• Available in 4, 3½, and 3 inches.
• 6 ounces.

Note: One unit is suggested for the average shooter, but for those who shoot a firearm that is brutal, have a medical condition that mandates maximum recoil reduction, or that prefer custom loads in rifles greater than .30 caliber, a second unit is recommended.
